Yale University

Yale University

About University

The university's origins date back to the 1640s when colonial clergymen sought to create a local college modelled after European liberal education. In 1701, the Connecticut legislature granted a charter “to establish a Collegiate School.” The institution officially became Yale College in 1718, named in honour of Welsh merchant Elihu Yale, who contributed the proceeds from nine bales of goods along with 417 books and a portrait of King George I. Since the day it was established, Yale has prioritised the expansion and sharing of knowledge, fostering innovation, and preserving cultural and scientific heritage for future generations.

For over 300 years, Yale has worked to improve both its local community and the global stage. The university works to enhance the community and boost the local economy. Furthermore, Yale partners with individuals and organisations worldwide to foster cultural understanding, enhance human welfare, explore the universe's mysteries, and develop the next generation of global leaders. So if you’re looking to apply to a university that works for the betterment of both an individual and the community as a whole, Yale should be your pick!

Frequently Ask Questions

Your guide to finding the personal and professional improvement programs to fit your needs

Counsellors, who provide their services on CounsellingX, are freelancers with an ample amount of admission counselling experience. Most of the counsellors on our platform have as many as 50 or more successful placements. Furthermore, they, themselves, are mostly graduates from the top universities in the world.

The counsellor and counsellee will have their online counselling sessions on Skype or Gotomeeting.com, in regions where Skype is banned. Additionally, all the documents will be shared by the counsellor with the counsellee or vice versa via email or Skype.

Students can pay for the counselling services through our online payment system called “Cybersource”. CounsellingX accepts payments through credit cards or direct bank-to-bank transfers.

Some of the counsellors on CounsellingX have a green tick mark on the top left corner of their profiles. The green tick indicates that all the information mentioned in the counsellor’s profile is authentic and has been verified by CounsellingX’s quality assurance department.

When seeking admission counselling, students can go one of two ways. They can either request a specific service or get end-to-end counselling. In end-to-end counselling, the counsellor helps the student from selecting suitable universities till getting an acceptance letter from one of the universities. Students are, hence, provided with a guarantee of admission to one of the universities approved by the counsellor. However, note that there is no guarantee if end-to-end counselling is not requested.

For guaranteed admission, the student holds the payment of the last instalment until at least one acceptance letter is received. As soon as the final offer is received, the counsellee is required to release the last instalment. Failing to do so within 10 days of receiving the offer, CounsellingX, itself, will release the payment to the counsellor.

Furthermore, if, for instance, a counsellor guaranteed admission of a student in the Fall semester but the student did not secure admission in any one of the universities finalised with the consent of the counsellor, then the counsellor would need to provide counselling to the student for the next Spring or Fall semester. The semester would be of the counsellee’s choosing and the counsellor would not charge extra in this case. If a counsellor fails to do so, he/she will be removed from the CounsellingX platform effective immediately.

End-to-end admission counselling or any counselling service for that matter can be divided into multiple instalments. For example, if a counsellee is taking end-to-end counselling from a counsellor, the first instalment can be “finalising the list of universities and courses”, the second instalment can be “finalising the SOP”, and so on. These instalments are created by the counsellor after understanding the scope of the project (i.e., once the free 15-minute discussion is done between the counsellor and the counsellee).

These instalments will, then, be emailed to the counsellee by the counsellor. Once official approval is received by both parties, the counsellee will make the payment for the first instalment. The amount of the first instalment will be held by CounsellingX in the form of an escrow. Once the work for the first instalment is done, the counsellor will inform the counselee via email or Skype conversation. On approval from the counselee, the amount will be released to the counsellor. After the completion of the first instalment, the amount for the second instalment will be transferred by the counsellee, and so on. Furthermore, the scope of an instalment can also be adjusted/revised on the counsellor’s and counsellee’s request.

If a counsellee does not take any action, i.e., doesn’t approve or request an update, on an instalment for 10 days after a counsellor’s release request, counsellor and counsellee should agree that CounsellingX Escrow is authorised and irrevocably instructed to immediately release that amount to the counsellor.
