Frequently Ask Questions

Your guide to finding the personal and professional improvement programs to fit your needs

End-to-end admission counselling or any counselling service for that matter can be divided into multiple instalments. For example, if a counsellee is taking end-to-end counselling from a counsellor, the first instalment can be “finalising the list of universities and courses”, the second instalment can be “finalising the SOP”, and so on. These instalments are created by the counsellor after understanding the scope of the project (i.e., once the free 15-minute discussion is done between the counsellor and the counsellee).

These instalments will, then, be emailed to the counsellee by the counsellor. Once official approval is received by both parties, the counsellee will make the payment for the first instalment. The amount of the first instalment will be held by CounsellingX in the form of an escrow. Once the work for the first instalment is done, the counsellor will inform the counselee via email or Skype conversation. On approval from the counselee, the amount will be released to the counsellor. After the completion of the first instalment, the amount for the second instalment will be transferred by the counsellee, and so on. Furthermore, the scope of an instalment can also be adjusted/revised on the counsellor’s and counsellee’s request.

If a counsellee does not take any action, i.e., doesn’t approve or request an update, on an instalment for 10 days after a counsellor’s release request, counsellor and counsellee should agree that CounsellingX Escrow is authorised and irrevocably instructed to immediately release that amount to the counsellor.

During the duration of an admission counselling project, a counsellor or counsellee may have a conflict. To highlight said conflict, both parties can issue a “revolt” via an email to CounsellingX. In case of a revolt from either side, the project proceedings will immediately stop. CounsellingX’s dedicated team will be assigned to resolve the conflict or establish a settlement between both parties. In case the counsellee doesn’t want to continue with the counsellor or vice versa, the CounsellingX team will do a thorough review of the work already done by the counsellor. Based on that review, a certain percentage of the instalment’s amount will be disbursed to the counsellor’s account. Note that the decision of this percentage is taken solely by CounsellingX.

Now the counsellee can continue with CounsellingX in two ways. The counsellee can either choose a different counsellor or leave the CounsellingX platform. In the first case, the amount of the instalment left after the percentage deduction will be shifted to the new project with the new counsellor on CounsellingX. In the second case, the counsellee will get a refund of up to 90% of the instalment’s amount after the previous counsellor’s percentage deduction.

Students can pay for the counselling services through our online payment system called “Cybersource”. CounsellingX accepts payments through credit cards or direct bank-to-bank transfers.

Some of the counsellors on CounsellingX have a green tick mark on the top left corner of their profiles. The green tick indicates that all the information mentioned in the counsellor’s profile is authentic and has been verified by CounsellingX’s quality assurance department.
