Frequently Ask Questions

Your guide to finding the personal and professional improvement programs to fit your needs

Some of the counsellors on CounsellingX have a green tick mark on the top left corner of their profiles. The green tick indicates that all the information mentioned in the counsellor’s profile is authentic and has been verified by CounsellingX’s quality assurance department.

During the duration of an admission counselling project, a counsellor or counsellee may have a conflict. To highlight said conflict, both parties can issue a “revolt” via an email to CounsellingX. In case of a revolt from either side, the project proceedings will immediately stop. CounsellingX’s dedicated team will be assigned to resolve the conflict or establish a settlement between both parties. In case the counsellee doesn’t want to continue with the counsellor or vice versa, the CounsellingX team will do a thorough review of the work already done by the counsellor. Based on that review, a certain percentage of the instalment’s amount will be disbursed to the counsellor’s account. Note that the decision of this percentage is taken solely by CounsellingX.

Now the counsellee can continue with CounsellingX in two ways. The counsellee can either choose a different counsellor or leave the CounsellingX platform. In the first case, the amount of the instalment left after the percentage deduction will be shifted to the new project with the new counsellor on CounsellingX. In the second case, the counsellee will get a refund of up to 90% of the instalment’s amount after the previous counsellor’s percentage deduction.

Counsellors, who provide their services on CounsellingX, are freelancers with an ample amount of admission counselling experience. Most of the counsellors on our platform have as many as 50 or more successful placements. Furthermore, they, themselves, are mostly graduates from the top universities in the world.

The services provided by the counsellors on CounsellingX include all the basic and subject-specific admission requirements. They can range from the selection of suitable colleges to interview preparation. Some of the key services provided by the counsellors are:

  1. Selection of suitable colleges
  2. SOP/ Personal Essay/ Supplements review
  3. Scholarship details
  4. Interview Preparation
  5. Reviewing Admission application.

When seeking admission counselling, students can go one of two ways. They can either request a specific service or get end-to-end counselling. In end-to-end counselling, the counsellor helps the student from selecting suitable universities till getting an acceptance letter from one of the universities. Students are, hence, provided with a guarantee of admission to one of the universities approved by the counsellor. However, note that there is no guarantee if end-to-end counselling is not requested.

For guaranteed admission, the student holds the payment of the last instalment until at least one acceptance letter is received. As soon as the final offer is received, the counsellee is required to release the last instalment. Failing to do so within 10 days of receiving the offer, CounsellingX, itself, will release the payment to the counsellor.

Furthermore, if, for instance, a counsellor guaranteed admission of a student in the Fall semester but the student did not secure admission in any one of the universities finalised with the consent of the counsellor, then the counsellor would need to provide counselling to the student for the next Spring or Fall semester. The semester would be of the counsellee’s choosing and the counsellor would not charge extra in this case. If a counsellor fails to do so, he/she will be removed from the CounsellingX platform effective immediately.

The counsellor and counsellee will have their online counselling sessions on Skype or Gotomeeting.com, in regions where Skype is banned. Additionally, all the documents will be shared by the counsellor with the counsellee or vice versa via email or Skype.
